Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic method used to visualize soft tissues around the joints, as well as the bony structures. It is a painless, fast, and cost-effective imaging technique. The examination can be repeated as often as necessary without exposing the patient to radiation.
In many cases, ultrasound can serve as an alternative to MRI, saving the patient time and money, while complementing the overall assessment of joint conditions. Ultrasound is also used in suspected temporal arteritis, helping to confirm or exclude the diagnosis

Ultrasound should be considered in cases of:

  • Arthritis, such as rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis
  • Arthritis of unknown origin
  • Joint injuries
  • Joint pain (arthralgia) of unclear cause
  • Suspected temporal arteritis

With the help of ultrasound, we can detect:

  • Tendonitis and tenosynovitis (inflammation of tendons and their sheaths)
  • Tendinopathy
  • Joint effusion (fluid in the joint)
  • Calcifications

Ultrasound can also be used as guidance during intra-articular injections.

Capillaroscopy

Capillaroscopy is a quick and easy-to-perform examination that assists in the differential diagnosis of various rheumatic diseases, especially primary and secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon. It is also helpful in all connective tissue diseases—particularly systemic sclerosis (scleroderma)—both for diagnostic purposes and in monitoring the course of the disease.

Intra-Articular Injections

In both arthritis and osteoarthritis, fluid may accumulate in the joint. Aspiration of this fluid for microscopic analysis can often help determine the underlying cause of the arthritis. Following fluid removal, a corticosteroid injection may be administered directly into the joint to relieve symptoms quickly and reduce inflammation.

In our clinic, both intra-articular injections of sodium hyaluronate and PRP treatments are offered. Please contact our clinic to learn about the indications for these therapies.

Treatment with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)

PRP therapy harnesses the body’s natural healing ability. A small amount of the patient’s own blood is used to isolate platelets, which are then injected into the affected area to stimulate tissue regeneration and reduce inflammation.

It is applied to conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendinitis, strains, and musculoskeletal injuries, providing natural and safe relief without medication or allergic reactions.

The treatment is customized individually according to the needs and clinical condition of each patient. It offers a modern, natural solution for pain relief and recovery.
