Curriculum Vitae
Vera Chatzistefanidi was born in Ioannina, Greece. After successfully passing the national university entrance examinations, she was admitted with a scholarship to the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, from which she graduated with distinction. She participated as an external collaborator in the scientific team of the Rheumatology Department at the University Hospital of Ioannina, and later completed her rural medical service at the Regional Medical Center of Longa in Messinia.

Training
She completed her training in Internal Medicine at St. Elisabeth Hospital in Bochum, and her specialization in Rheumatology at the Rheumazentrum Ruhrgebiet in Herne — the largest rheumatology clinic in Germany, dedicated to both acute and chronic rheumatic diseases, with a capacity of 140 beds. The clinic is a specialized and internationally recognized reference center for Ankylosing Spondylitis, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Med. Juergen Braun and Prof. Dr. Med. Xenofon Baraliakos. .
Specialization in Rheumatology at the Rheumazentrum
She continued working at the Rheumazentrum as a specialist in Rheumatology and was head of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Department. She is also a PhD candidate at Ruhr University Bochum.
Employment in Gladbeck, Germany
Since 2021, she has worked at the Internal Medicine and Rheumatology Polyclinic of Dres Schulte-Terhusen, Krause, and Klink in Gladbeck, Germany.
She also completed advanced training in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound according to the curriculum of the German Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (DEGUM).
Return to Greece and to the city of Kalamata
In 2023, she returned to Greece and began her private medical practice in the city of Kalamata.
She is an active member of the German Society for Rheumatology (DGRh), the Hellenic Society for Rheumatology (ERE), and the Scientific Society for Musculoskeletal Health (EPEMY). Additionally, she serves as an affiliated physician at the Rheumatology Department of Ruhr University Bochum, Rheumazentrum Ruhrgebiet.Είναι ενεργό μέλος της Γερμανικής Εταιρείας Ρευματολογίας (DGRh), της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Ρευματολογίας (ΕΡΕ) και της Επιστημονικής Εταιρείας για την Μυοσκελετική Υγεία (ΕΠΕΜΥ). Επίσης είναι συνεργάτης ιατρός στη Ρευματολογική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημίου Bochum, Rheumazentrum Ruhrgebiet.
